Dear School Principals and School Leaders,
Thank you to all member Community Language Schools (CLS) who attended the Community Languages Victoria (CLV) Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 8 September 2025, both in person and via Zoom. We greatly appreciate your time, participation, and continued commitment to strengthening community language education across Victoria. We also thank those who sent through their apologies.
Key Outcomes of the AGM
Reports The Committee, Activity, and Financial Reports were presented and accepted. These outlined CLV’s challenges and achievements, ongoing projects, financial position, and priorities for the year ahead.
Elections The following members were elected to the CLV Committee of Management for 2025:

Dr Oksana King – Ukrainian School Council of Victoria – Vice-President
Ms Majida Ali – Assiraj Arabic School – Treasurer
Mr Kevork Krozian – Armenian Mesrob Mashdots Matheossian School – Secretary
Dr Ruilan Yuan – RLY Chinese Culture and Language Academy Inc – Ordinary Member
Mr Andrew Moore – The Thai Language School of Melbourne – Ordinary Member
Ms Helen Lambris – Aetolian College of Hellenic Language and Culture – Ordinary Member
Mr Elias Doufas – AHEPA Greek School – Ordinary Member
Ms Danica Kustura – Croatian School of Language and Culture Melbourne – Ordinary Member
Resolutions Two key resolutions were passed at the AGM:
Members confirmed their support for CLV to continue receiving and retaining the $5 per-student per capita funding amount under the CFA, dedicated to administration and professional learning for all Community Language Schools.
The Association confirmed the annual subscription/joining fee for the next financial year as:
No annual subscription payable by funded member CLS.
A $30 joining fee for new or provisional CLS until funding is received, after which only the $5 levy applies.
Looking Ahead
We sincerely thank the interim Committee members for their service and warmly welcome the newly elected Committee, who will guide CLV’s work in 2025 and beyond.
The AGM reaffirmed the importance of collaboration, advocacy, transparency and strong leadership in supporting our member schools and the community language sector as a whole. We look forward to working with you to create more opportunities for language learners across Victoria.
