We’re pleased to share a free professional learning opportunity from the NSW Federation of Community Language Schools, in collaboration with the School of International Studies, Macquarie University.


Workshop: Supporting Minority Languages in Bilingual Children – Practical Classroom Strategies
Presenter: Dr. Ifigeneia Dosi, Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics, Democritus University of Thrace (Greece)

This interactive session explores how teachers can best support the language development of bilingual children learning a minority or heritage language. Dr. Dosi will share both theoretical insights and practical classroom strategies that can be immediately applied in community language school settings.


Participants will learn how to:

  • Strengthen bilingual students’ language proficiency

  • Support their cultural and linguistic identity

  • Create engaging classroom experiences that foster language use and confidence
