Dear Principals and School Leaders,
Community Languages Victoria wishes all our members a wonderful and prosperous 2023 year.
As we grow close to seeing students again, much preparation and planning are in progress.
The CLV Team met last week to look at how we can support our schools in 2023.
Here are some of our thoughts and plans:
- 2023 Professional Development Program – Some will be face-to-face, some will be online. We are looking at facilitating PD sessions centrally in Carlton, some in the North West, some in the South East.
- Teacher Training programs – We will meet with universities to review training programs and
content.
- Cert IV in Community Language Teaching Course – We will offer another course.
- Administration and Support – Conduct a refresher seminar on school management committees' responsibilities and better understand the criteria for which funding is received.
- 2023 CLS Funding Information Sessions (7th and 9th February - mark your calendars!) as well as info sessions on Child Safety and Regulations
- State Conference is being planned for Saturday, July 8, 2023
- National Community Languages Schools Day is on Saturday, May 20, 2023
- AGM of CLV and Elections
- Leadership Course for Principal and School leaders
- Annual Dinner Dance
- Student Voice Forums
- Commence negotiations with the Minister for
Education on funding increases from 2024.
- Quality Assurance Framework - NEW Launch of the Framework and Train the Trainer sessions coming up!
We look forward to working with you in 2023.
