Welcome to 2026.
On behalf of Community Languages Victoria (CLV), we extend our warmest wishes to all Victorian community language schools (CLS) as we commence a new year of teaching, learning, and community engagement. We thank you for your continued dedication to language education and for supporting Victoria’s rich cultural and linguistic diversity.
As we begin the year, we would like to share important information regarding the 2026 Victorian Community Language Schools (CLS) Per Capita Funding Program, funded and administered by the Victorian Department of Education.
2026 Funding Information Sessions
Community Languages Victoria will be delivering two information sessions on behalf of the Victorian Department of Education to support CLS in understanding the funding program, eligibility requirements, and the application process.
Please note that attendance at one information session is mandatory for all new community language schools applying for funding for the first time in 2026. Existing funded CLS are also strongly encouraged to attend, as the sessions will include important updates and practical guidance.
The information sessions will cover:
- An overview of the Victorian Community Language Schools Funding Program
- Eligibility requirements and assessment criteria
- Application processes and key dates
- Tips for preparing and submitting a strong application
- A live demonstration of the SmartyGrants application system
