We are delighted to share with you the official media release from our recent CLV Community Language Teachers’ Summit, Empower & Engage: Strategies That Stick – A Practical Community Language Teachers’ Summit, held at Monash University, Clayton Campus.

This year’s Summit marked an exciting new chapter for our sector, bringing together close to 470 participants across in-person and online attendance in a dynamic half-day professional learning format focused on practical, classroom-ready strategies.

The media release captures key highlights from the day, including:
  • The Acknowledgement of Country by Professor Mark Rose, setting a respectful and reflective tone
  • A Welcome Address by Associate Professor Maria Gindidis (CLV President), alongside heartfelt contributions from CLV Committee Members
  • Ministerial addresses from The Hon. Julian Hill MP and The Hon. Steve Dimopoulos MP, along with a video message from Mr Brad Rowswell MP
  • The announcement of CLV’s inaugural multicultural festival coming up in October:
    Global Voices: The Community Languages Multicultural Festival
  • Three high-impact workshop streams delivered by leading facilitators, providing practical strategies across Early Years, Primary and Secondary settings
  • Strong attendance and overwhelmingly positive feedback on the new format, venue, and quality of sessions
