At the recent Victoria State Budget lockup meeting on Tuesday 7th May, $11 million was announced over the next 4 years to support community language schools in Victoria.

This will be allocated to a small increase in per capita funding from 2025.

CLV has been in contact with the Minister of Education’s Office and also the Department of Education to get a better understanding of the formula for annual increase over this period.

A media release with all the details will be announced shortly.

The third Saturday of May is National Community Language Schools Day. It is an opportunity to promote your school to your community and the broader community. Schools might also announce programs that will continue for some time that are related to the day’s theme.

This year’s annual theme will be Art and Culture: A Key to Social Cohesion.
