Victorian Community Language Schools Celebrate Growth and Legacy at the 2024 State Conference

The Victorian Community Language Schools Conference came together on Saturday, September 28th to celebrate the 2024 Community Language Schools State Conference.

It was a resounding success celebrating legacy and growth.

This year’s conference was a remarkable gathering, drawing in a diverse audience committed to the advancement of community language education. This year's theme, Mapping Success: Empowering Growth in Community Language Schools, resonated deeply with attendees, highlighting the importance of collaboration and innovation in language education.

Participants celebrated the legacy of Stefan Romaniw, whose contributions have significantly shaped the landscape of community language schools. His dedication to promoting language education and fostering multilingualism in Australia continues to inspire educators and learners alike.

The conference featured a vibrant cultural performance by the Lehenda Ukrainian Dance Group, captivating the audience with their rich traditions and artistry. Attendees were also treated to insightful presentations from esteemed keynote speakers and workshop facilitators, who tackled pressing topics in community language education with expertise and passion.

A highlight of the event was the engaging Panel Discussion held at the end of the conference. The panellists, comprised of key leaders in the field (principals, teachers, school leaders and parent), provided valuable perspectives on challenges and opportunities facing community language schools. Their insights were met with great appreciation from the audience, sparking meaningful conversations that will undoubtedly continue beyond the conference.

The 2024 Community Language Schools State Conference not only reinforced the importance of community and collaboration but also empowered attendees to map out their paths to success. We thank everyone who participated, contributed, and celebrated together in honour of Stefan Romaniw’s enduring legacy.
