Dear Members of Community Languages Victoria,

In the lead-up to the State Election this Saturday, November 26, 2022, Community Languages Victoria approached the ALP Andrews Government and Matthew Guy’s Liberal Opposition to seek their support for community languages schools.

The request was to reinforce their support which both have done.

The CLV ask is to recognise the efforts of CLS and seek a $30 per capita increase and an increase in support for CLV.

As a result, we now have commitments from both parties to support CLS and CLV, however, in different ways.

LIBERAL POSITION RECEIVED OCTOBER 1, 2022

At the  CLA National Conference, David Southwick, the Deputy Leader of the Liberal opposition, announced support of $5.4 million over four years, which would translate to the per capita support and support for CLV.
