Dear Principals and School Leaders,
We are writing to inform you that the upcoming Child Safety Training sessions scheduled for this month have been cancelled.
As part of CLV’s continuous improvement approach, we are currently trialling new interactive Child Safety training modules designed to improve accessibility, flexibility, and delivery for our member schools.
This transition will allow us to provide a more scalable and user-friendly training model, particularly for schools with multiple staff, volunteers, and committee members requiring certification.
Further details regarding the new training modules, access arrangements, certification, and compliance requirements will be shared with schools shortly.
Interim Compliance Requirements
In the meantime, schools are expected to continue meeting all Child Safe compliance obligations.
To support this, schools may:

Access CLV’s Child Safety resources and presentation slides via our website:

Conduct internal induction sessions using CLV’s Child Safety slides (these may be adapted to reflect your school’s context)

Ensure all staff, volunteers, and committee members:

Hold a valid Working With Children Check (or VIT registration where applicable)

Have signed the Code of Conduct at commencement and annually thereafter

Have been formally inducted into the school’s Child Safe policies and procedures
Internal induction is appropriate as an interim measure; however, it does not replace mandatory CLV Child Safety Training for every new teacher, volunteer and/or staff member.
Once the new training modules are launched, we will notify all schools so that teachers, volunteers, and committee members can register for the updated program.
