We trust that 2022 will be a successful and fruitful year for your community language school, for your students, parents, and teachers.

We have some great things in store for you this year and we can't wait to support you where you most need it.

The Department of Education has provided an updated operations guide that was released to mainstream schools this morning following yesterday’s announcements.

“Community Language Schools will operate with face-to-face learning on school and non-school sites”

There is also a reference to community use of school facilities which is relevant (and hopefully helpful for any mainstream schools expressing reluctance/uncertainty regarding CLS return):

Use of school facilities by the community

School facilities can be used by the community, including play equipment, and for external hire.

Schools are permitted to allow external providers to use or hire school facilities.

When hiring out school facilities, schools are required to follow the PAL policy regarding vaccination and visitors to schools.

If an external party is using school facilities during school hours, there should be no mixing between external parties and school staff and students (for example, a swim school should have exclusive use of a school pool and change room for the period of use).

When unsure, providers should be directed to the Victorian government Sector guidance to confirm CovidSafe requirements.
